Labour MP ‘sorry’ over activist’s ‘traumatic’ revelation
Dawn Butler, Labour’s shadow women and equalities secretary, has told the BBC there will be a “thorough investigation” into a Labour activist’s revelation she was discouraged from reporting a rape allegation by a party official.
Butler says Bex Bailey has been through a “traumatic experience” for which she “absolutely” offers an apology on behalf of the Labour Party.
“Of course I’m really sorry,” she adds.
